Empressr is a presentation tool that can be used to create and share presentations. It is a free tool that is user-friendly and provides many creative options for presentation techniques and styles. There are many similar features to PowerPoint and Prezi that are available through Empressr. You can start with a blank template or upload a previous PowerPoint to be edited or changed. The tool makes it easy to upload sounds, videos, and pictures from other websites and your personal library. Another interesting feature of Empressr is the ability to search for public presentations that have been created under certain categories. You can rate or comment on previously created presentations, and link and comment through Twitter. We found many presentations that students had created on books and film. We decided to create our own Empressr using The Pigman which is a YAL novel written by Paul Zindel. We included many of the features in this presentation including the importing of images and videos from Google and YouTube. Empressr allows you to search and import images and videos without ever leaving your presentation page! We really liked this tool and plan on using it in the future.
